King Kirkous lived, and he had Uncle Lazarus. The son of the prince, Yeruslan Lazarevich, at ten years old was expelled from the kingdom. His remarkable strength brought only troubles during games with peers: whoever takes hold of his hand will tear out his hand, and whoever holds his leg will break that leg. The princes and the boyars prayed: "Either we live in the kingdom, or Yeruslan." And Yeruslan said to his upset father: “Don’t be touched, father, they have led me to put stone chambers near the sea, I will live there alone.” Once his solitude was violated by the old groom of his father, who found out that the young man was saddened by the fact that he could not pick up his beloved horse, because no horse was able to withstand his heaviness. The groom comforted the young man and promised to help him. The next morning, he will drive a whole herd to the shore, and in front there will be the most frisky stallion, and Yruslan should catch him. The young man dealt with this and gave his good horse a name - the prophetic Arash.
And Yruslan decided to check the reliability of his new friend, and went out into the open field to meet the great rati. It was, as it turned out, the army of Tsar Kirkous and in her ranks father Eruslan. She went out to fight against Danila, Prince Bely, threatening to capture Kirkous and his whole kingdom. Yeruslan defeated the enemy army, and Danil, praying for mercy and promising not to keep evil against Tsar Kirkous, was released alive. Kirkous apologizes to Yeruslan for expelling him from his kingdom, persuades him to remain in his service and promises to give him as a reward "half of his kingdom and power." Yeruslan generously does not remember the evil caused to him by Kirkous, but refuses to stay in his kingdom, promising, when necessary, to come to the king's aid. He also refused the award, saying: “Tsar Tsar! One of two things: either to achieve self-interest, or heroic glory. "
Having driven away from the kingdom of Kirkous, Yruslan saw the battered great army of Theodulus the serpent. Her prince Ivan, the Russian hero who won the hands of Feodul's daughter, defeated her. Yruslan wanted to measure his strength with the first Russian hero. They gathered in a clean field, Yeruslan hit the hero with a spear against the heart with a blunt end and knocked him down to the ground. It was a pity to Yeruslan to kill Ivan, and he said: “We are not enemies, but we wanted to make fun of you, and we tested our shoulders, now we will be brothers.” They chatted and kissed. Soon, Yruslan defeats Theodula the serpent and marries his princess daughter to Prince Ivan. From their conversation, Yeruslan learns that somewhere in the field two princesses roam, who even have handmaids more beautiful than his wife Ivan, and that there is a man braver than Yeruslan and his name is Ivashko - White Polenitsa. He guards the Indian borders, and no one else has been able to pass there.
Yeruslan was disappointed and began to think what to do: whether to look for those two princesses, or to fight with Ivashka, or to go to his father and mother to bang. Having decided that his parents had grown old with him, and that the princesses and Ivashko, the White Raspberry, would not leave him, he went to see his parents. He found the kingdom of Kirkous devastated and, having barely spotted one man there, he learned from him that it had been the third year since the treacherous prince Daniil Bely had conquered the whole kingdom, and captured Kirkous himself, father Yeruslan and twelve heroes. Yruslan cried at this news and regretted that he believed the insidious Danila.
He rode his horse Arash in the possession of Danila and made his way to the dungeon, in which prisoners with goggled eyes sat. From his father, Yruslan learned that they can see clearly if they anoint their eyes with fresh liver and the hot blood of the Green Tsar. That king lives on the sea, and no hero can defeat him. Yeruslan twisted because he was still young and inexperienced, but, having prayed to Savior, he mounted his horse and went in search of the Green Tsar. With the help of a sorceress who turned into a bird, he found him. On the way to Yeruslanu there is a talking head of a brave hero who died during the battle with the Green Tsar. She gave Yeruslan a sword and taught how to kill the Green King. Killing the king, taking his liver and hot blood, Yeruslan returned to the kingdom of Daniil Bely. He led him to the dungeon where King Kirkous was, and that bruised him to the ground to death. Then Kirkous, the father of Yeruslan and the twelve heroes, having anointed their eyes, received sight. Having brutally dealt with his foes and taking care of those who were kind to him, Kirkous returned to his kingdom and, having arranged it better than the former, he lived in it serene.
Yeruslan went to the open field to Cossack. Many days passed, and he found himself on the Indian border. Ivashko, who is watching over her, White Raspberry, was indignant at the appearance of the alien and called him to battle. “Two heroes do not live in the field” - and Iruslan Ivashko killed. In the Indian kingdom, Yruslan destroys a monster with three heads that lived in a lake, devouring a person every day and preparing to gobble up the tsar’s daughter the next day. At the bottom of Lake Yeruslan found a gem, which was not on all Indian soil. As a reward for the murder of the monster, the king gives his daughter Marus for Yruslan. On the first wedding night, Yeruslan, however, leaves his wife, having learned that the princess lives in her sunny city much more beautifully. He sets off in search of a new beauty, telling his wife, if she has a son, to put on his hand the gem he had mined in the lake.
Arriving in the sunny city, Yeruslan healed with the beautiful princess. He forgot his wife, but meanwhile she gave birth to a son and named him also Yruslan. The boy grew up as a hero like his father. When he was twelve years old, he wanted to “make fun of the royal fun”, but “the royal families and the great princes” began to dishonor him and call him an illegitimate son. He complained to his mother, and she explained to him whose son he was and where his father had gone. And choosing a good horse, riding him and taking a damask spear in his hand, Yeruslan Yeruslanovich went in search of his father.
He came to the sunny city, stood on the bridge and whistled in a heroic voice. His father told the princess: "It’s not an ordinary man who shouted, a strong hero whistled." And he prepared for battle. Armed with spears, the warriors came together. The son grabbed the spear of his father, his hand was bare - and Yruslan recognized the son by stone. And Yeruslan Lazarevich left his beautiful princess, and with his son came to the Indian kingdom to his lawful wife. He gave the Indian king Yeruslan half of his kingdom. His son, Yeruslan Yeruslanovich, went to the open field for a walk-Cossack on a good horse, the clothing Arash, to search for kings and kings, and strong heroes, and daring people. He wanted to earn honor and fame.
